Routine Inspection Observations:

Warm water from hand sinks observed at 100F.
Cold holding at <41F.

Observed employee wearing face covering and gloves.
Covid-19 signage posted at entrance, and sanitizer is available for guests and employees.
No paper/laminated menus used.
Customers self serve soft serve but must sanitize hands and wear gloves.
All toppings are prepackaged in single use containers.
Employees do not self screen for temperatures but are aware of symptoms to look out for and to not work if possibly sick with Covid-19.

Clean the condenser fan grate inside of the walk in refrigerator to eliminate accumulated dust and debris.

Repeated Violation

Food protection manager and food handler cards were not available on site for review. Within 30 days, ensure all food handler cards are available on site for review. A copy of a current food protection manager certification can be emailed to aevans@placer.ca.gov.

The rear area of the facility used for maintenance of soft serve machines, utensil washing, and food preparation is not sufficiently lighted to allow for inspection and cleaning activities. Lights are all on but unusually dim. Correct to provide sufficient lighting.

Observed the mop sink faucet handles leaking. Repair the faucet to eliminate leaks that could promote mold and flies.

COVID-19 Guidelines
• Facility has prepared and implemented a written Workplace Specific Plan.
• Observed employees wearing face coverings.
• Observed physical distancing and COVID-19 signs posted.
• Per Plan, high touch areas are sanitized every 15 minute.
• Observed indoor dining closed.
• Observed outdoor dining tables spread out more than 6ft apart.
• Observed hand sanitizer provided at the register and by the glove station.
• Per Plan, employee are to asked customer to put on gloves before dispensing yogurt from the soft serve machine. However, per manager, customer are required to use hand sanitizer and then put on a pair of gloves before dispensing yogurt. Please add new procedure to the Plan. There is also a sign at the front counter inform customer of the new self serve procedure.
• Per Plan, lids, spoon and samples are distributed by employee. Observed cups out in the open for customer to grab themselves. Please keep cups behind counter and have employee distribute them too.
• Employees have been trained on the contents of Plan. Training is documented.
• No menus are being used. Flavors are labeled on the soft serve machine.
• All toppings are prepackaged in small disposable cups.



Reminders:
1) Failure to correct violation may result in a yellow placard and/ or chargeable re-inspection.
2) Observed restroom posted closed to the public. Per California Retail food code section 114276 (b). Permanent food facility shall provide clean toilet facilities in good repair for consumers, guest or invitees when there is onsite consumption of foods. Please keep restroom open for customer use.

Observed manager food safety certificate expired. Please provide valid manager food safety certificate ASAP.

Observed multiple bottle of frozen yogurt improperly thawing in the prep sink. Food shall be thaw in one of the following way:
1) In the walk in cooler
2) Under cold running water
3) Microwave for immediate use
